Volvo SA Offers Free Charging & More with Q4 2024 EV Purchases
Volvo South Africa has announced an exciting new offer included with purchases of new Volvo electric vehicles over the course of Q4 2024. Here’s what you can expect…
In August 2024, Volvo Car South Africa announced every Volvo electric vehicle (EV) purchased at the 2024 Festival of Motoring will receive complimentary charging for a year. Now, the local arm of the Swedish premium automaker has announced a brand-new, limited-time offer — for the fourth quarter of 2024 — for its EV customers.
Limited to the final quarter of 2024, every purchase of a fully electric Volvo from one of the brand’s dealerships will include one year of free public charging, two years of comprehensive vehicle insurance, and three years of complimentary in-car data.
“Volvo is already at the forefront of South Africa’s new-energy vehicle [NEV] space and is responsible for much of the recent growth in the fully electric segment. This new offer is the latest illustration of our commitment to our customers which will provide the most value to their EV-ownership experience,” said Markus Cromwell, Commercial Director at Volvo Car South Africa.
The Gothenburg-based brand’s local line-up currently comprises a trio of all-electric models: the EX30, SA’s best-selling EV (year tot date, August 2024), which we tested (in Ultra Twin Motor Performance guise) in the June 2024 issue of CAR magazine; the XC40 Recharge; and C40 Recharge, with the company’s new flagship emissions-free offering, the EX90, which we sampled at the international launch in Los Angeles, US, scheduled to join the model range in 2025.
Priced from R791 900, there is a quartet of EX30 derivatives to choose from, with the pinnacle model we tested priced at R1 055 900. The two-strong XC40 Recharge line-up is priced from R1 108 000. Exclusively available in Twin Motor Ultimate guise, the sole C40 Recharge is priced from R1 324 000.
As standard, all models ship with a maintenance plan spanning five years or 100 000 km, a five-year/100 000 km vehicle warranty, and an eight-year/160 000 km battery warranty.
